Customer Story
GLX Constructors is a construction joint venture team
comprising of Fluor Enterprises, Inc., The Middlesex
Corporation, Herzog Contracting Corp., Balfour Beatty
Infrastructure, Inc., and lead designer, STV Incorporated.
GLX Constructors have teamed up to manage and
deliver the Billion Dollar Green Line Extension Project
which will extend the existing MBTA Green Line
service into the communities of Somerville, Cambridge,
and Medford in Massachusetts. The project involves
construction of 6 new Green Line stations, along with the
relocation and reconstruction of Lechmere Station.
Kelly was tasked with uploading Drawings and Specs.
"Prior to ProjectSight, Drawings were managed on
our servers and finding the latest Drawing was always
challenging. Now that we have this system in place, the
field team and design teams are able to instantly access
the most up-to-date version," says Mr. Kelly.
The ProjectSight mobile phone and iPad apps provide
the GLX Constructors Field team the opportunity to
allow general contractors and their subcontractors to
effectively and efficiently manage the project from the
construction site. "The mobile application allows the field
team to access information on the job site even when
offline," says Mr. Kelly.
The GLX team will also be using the system for data
retention purposes, which is extremely important
for publicly-funded projects. ProjectSight is a highly
configurable system which allows those using it to meet
strict guidelines. "We will be able to access all of the data
in ProjectSight," adds Mr. Kelly.

In June of 2019, GLX Constructors moved off of an old
quality management tool they were using and started
using ProjectSight's full project management capabilities
including the Drawings, Document Controls and Field
Management modules to manage the Green Line
Extension Project. "The training and implementation was
great," says Mike Kelly, Document Control Specialist with
GLX Constructors. "The training was thorough as we
configured each module to our business processes."
